A story to tell

I didn't make 52 layouts but came close I managed 50 and this is the last one to show this year.
I made it for a challenge at the retreat I went to in October. It was made with mainly dies. The waves are MFT and so it the boat. The title is Memory box dies and I just found the different blues and cute them out. The clouds are possible Memory Box or even MFT not really sure.
The paper is probably Echo Park and I used the grungy stamp set from Stampin  in similar blues. I paper pricked the side to give more definition.
The pic are of my nephew and his nephew (my Gt nephew) canoeing down at Hayling Island.
Have safe New Year Eve and see you next year.

My Favourite Five of 2014

My favourites are in no particular order so to start the ball rolling my first is a Penny Black card. The thing I love about this was that it was one of the quickest cards I ever made. It was for a DT card and I made a complete mess of the first one and had to make one quick at the eleventh hour. So grabbed the coloured card matching the colour challenge and practially copied the colour inspiration photo.

One of my favourite papers are Doodlebug and add one of Mo Mannings Baby image and you've a recipe for a jolly good card.

I had actually used enamel dots and I had just started to get it along with sequins. Also I love paper pieceing the image and Pure Innocence stamps cry out to be layered like this.

I love Dr Digi images especially for Mens cards he can really capture the funny side their life.

I just love papers and how it all worked so well together.

Happy Birthday

Another card that after several attempts went in the bin the final one worked out so much better than the one inside my head.

Congratulations
Another card that looked busy but was a very simple card but it looks so elegant.

Thank you everyone who entered the Favourite Five Christmas Cards and I look forward to seeing your favourites of 2014.
All you have to do is to make a post with your favourites and link them with the frog. If you've already post your favourites of 2014 thats OK you can still add your link and join in.

You should know by now that the snowflakes are Simon Says Stamps and the border is the Snow border from Joy.
The gorgeous papers are LOTV and the my oval is Spellbinders Floral Oval.
My sweet image is Ragged Kelly from Mo, if you already have some Ragged image you simple need this one too.
No time to stop and waffle today need to write tomorrows post have a large post to write My Favourite Five Cards/Creations for 2014, hope you can join me.

Belated Birthday

My order from Simon Says Stamps arrived just before Christmas Week and with Hubby working I thought I would be able spend the day making lots of cards with the dies. Unfortunately Mr Mojo had a different idea.
So lots of cards turned out to be a couple warts before my poor brain felt fried with trying to think of some originally.
Instead I went off to find sketch and found the recent one from Mojo Monday. To start with I had no idea how to use it.

So first off I decided my Woodland Tree from Simon Says Stamps would replace the circle, then hunted through my Simon Says Stamps first to find a square size sentiment. This one from Naughty Nautical seemed the closest and the fact my tree trunk could come down into would help that it didn't fit a square perfectly.
The papers are Prima, twine from Doodlebug and little flowers which I wasn't sure of are Martha Stewart Hydrangea trio punch.

Swinging

So its all over hope you had a good one, now we just have to see the new year in to start afresh in 2015.
Meanwhile we have a Saturday in between and even I'm amazed that I managed to make a card for today.
First off the sketch is one I found in Pinterest so I'm not sure if it current or not.
the sweetest thing...
Then I decided to use the Perils of Love, yes thats what they call this stamp but notice that there are three critters hanging, clever or luck I'm not telling.
The paper is Simple Stories which work with the colour I used for my thanks die from Simon Says Stamps.
I may have cut down the image a bit too much but it still doesn't look too bad. I added the Upsy Daisy flowers from MFT to the ends of the branch in hope that the branch isn't floating mid air.

New York

I have had to wait till now to show this card although its not really a card. Inside is a pocket for some dollars for a lovely couple who have flew to New York on Christmas Day (cheap flights apparently)
I had to use the Memory Box Cityscape die twice so it would fit a long card. Didn't fancy yellow lights so used my favourite colours for Christmas behind the cut out.
Double cut of My Favourite Things grass die upside down with join hidden by a Simon Says Stamps Maryanne snowflake die.
Finally Simon Says Stamps Merry Christmas die to finish.

I had a little bit of the Cityscape left and saw the sketch on CAS(E) this sketch and knew I could use it.
But to make the background look more interest than white and grabbed my falling snow stamp from Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful set and just stamp in a matching inkpad. Add sentiment from the same set, job done.

My Favourite Five Christmas Cards of 2014

I love Mo's Valerie so perfect for quick cards and easy to colour but still allows me layer the image.

I love how this card turned out, I used normal Prima papers and some dies, can't believe it turned out so well.

Although the die was really tricky to use, I was really proud how lovely this turned out, so much I still have it couldn't bear to be parted from it maybe next year I will be able to give away.

When I discovered that the stamp set from Simon Says Stamps Be Joyful had a snowfalling stamp I was over the moon and quick cards like my leftover tree suddenly was made much easier than using embossing paste.

My favourites have to include a  Penny Black somewhere and this one is that pipped the post.

You may have noticed that I have 6 cards this last one although not 'my' favourite it needs a special mentioned. First of it was a DT card for Simon Says Stamp which was for a Shaker card
I don't like making shaker card they usually end up leaking. What was amazing that this card was pinned 1946 just from Simon Says Stamp Pinterest Board and it was view 1873 times on Splitcoast Stampers. So I reckon this must be my most sucessful card I ever made.

To win my candy just add to Mr Linky your post of your favourite Christmas Creations, one rule they have to be made by you and in 2014.

Thank you everyone for being patience with me this year, I haven't been a good blogger this year, I promise to try my best for next year.

I decided to use a DoCrafts Leafy Flourishes for this challenge but one thing I didn't realise how large they were and I would think that they are made with an 8 inch card in mind. But I decided to use just the corner which I cut out twice and layered.
To finish some tiny flowers using the papers with a Martha Stewart Hydrangea Trio punch. It was nice to have a break from Christmas card.

Happy Beary

There was no way I was going to let one of Mo's new image past me by without using it and Beary Merry Christmas is so cute.
I found the sketch on Pinterest and kept it simple, the papers are LOTV and the dies are various from Simon Says Stamps also Martha Stewart Snowflake punch plus a really old small punch for the snowflake centres.
The craftroom is now closed nothing was working that well so I decided to tidy up and hopefull will re-open at the weekend after the Christmas Festivities.
The final food shop has been completed at silly o'clock this morning, a pair of crutches and crowds are not a good combination so it was in and out before the mad rush. Although avoiding large cleaning machines and walking on wet floors had its own problems.
Tomorrow is a double whammy with My Favourite Five Christmas Cards and Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge.

Santa Tags

There is a fabulous pin on Pinterest of Santa tags but the link didn't link back to the tags for details but it was easy to work out.
I used the Stampin Up tag punch to make the tag in white, use it again with red card. Cut a strip for the brim of his hat. Circle punch for his head I used 1 1/2 inch one. His moustache is the bird wing from the bird punch but I flipped the card over.
Found out where my chalks were to add a bit of blusher to his face and couple of dots for his eyes.
Cute or what.

Left overs

Yesterday i made a card and here is the leftover centre and the red border was also made for yesterdays card but I didn't like it so I've used it on this card.
The large tree is a Dee Distinctely die and again this was made for the my ornament last week but didn't used because it was too large.
Out came my Holly punch and where would I be this Christmas without my Happy Christmas die from Simon Says Stamps.
To honest I'm not sure about this card but I feel good about using bits and bobs leftover from other cards.

Igloo

I have several Christmas images coloured and I've decided to use the ones that are clean and quick.
I cut out the centre of the pattern paper with the Stitched Squares from Simon Says Stamps so I would get the faux stitch on the patterned paper. I also cut out the image with the same square so it would fit inside the patterned paper.
Of course my adorable image is a Mo Manning Igloo and is so easy to colour. Martha Stewart Holly punch for the corner I did cut out two and use half of one to make a three leaf Holly.
The Snowflake is Rylynn from Simon Says Stamps but the sentiment is LOTV.
Well I attempted to make everyday cards yesterday failed miserably and took up my crochet hook instead.

Gold Poinsettia

I really didn't think I would have time to get a Penny Black card for this Saturday so why I thought stamping and embossing then cutting out this poinsettia would be quick!
It's not very imaginative using a Spellbinders Frame and when I realised how large the poinsettia was I had no choice to put it on a large card.
My Merry Christmas is layered twice to show up and thats it, mainly cos I had no idea what to add and time run out if I wanted to photo it in time for today.
I finally made the decision that I'm done with Christmas Cards although I still have a few coloured images I'm taking a break from using them but I've promised myself I need to get over it and start making a few each month instead of waiting till August. Unfortunately I still have a few in my drafts to post.

Christmas Jumper

One of the images coloured and need using before the big day. I first saw this Art Impression image on my teamie Jo last year and I knew I needed it but had to wait patiently till it was back in stock.
I saw the sketch on this week Sketch Saturday and thought I could cheat a bit, turn it and use my Penny Black Holly die instead of the banner.
Then I used the my favourite poinsettias from Simon Says Stamps instead of the banner. Both my image and the patterned paper I've used the Bundle of Stitched Shapes and Rectangle Stitched Shapes both from Simon Says Stamp.
Don't forget I'm still doing MY FAVOURITE FIVE CHRISTMAS CARDS 2014 on Christmas Eve and the following week I shall be doing MY FAVOURITE FIVE OF 2014, both have a random candy.
One day I will find time to make a banner.

Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop

Its the final Mo's Dream Team Blog Hop of 2014 and Anneke has chosen Christmas Time. It was a hard choice to decide which wonderful image to use from Mo's shop.
In the end I decided on this wonderful Christmas Fairy Holly I can remember buying it and knowing full well at the time my printer would smudge the ink but I had to have her, at the time she hadn't been made into a stamp. Thank goodness I now have a printer that doesn't smudge.
I'm a bit cross with my camera because I was really pleased how pretty my card looked but it seems to have made my card a bit grey.
I grabbed all my favourite dies and cut them all in white. My snowglobe I added a bit of glossy accents to make it into a globe.
Now hopefully you are following the hop and have arrived from my good friend Julie and now you need to Hop, Skip and Jump over to Alice
Got lost or don't know where to start pop over to the Mo's Dream Team Blog where you will find the blog hop route.
