Keys

Keys is the new challenge on Everybody Art so I found my Quickutz key die and cut a couple out. I saw the sketch somewhere but now can't find it.
The card didn't quite turn out as I hoped the papers I'm pretty certain is Echo Park and of course my image is Saturated Canary. The corners are La La land and my flowers are retro flower punches from Ek success.  The large flower has a snowflake centre before placing the circle but the little one just used a circle.
The perfect sentiment came from Simon Says Stamps.
Do pop over and check out the team.
I still have a DT card to make for next week then I can concentrate on yet more Christmas cards.

A CAS Penquin

I made this card a couple of weeks ago but since I missed the challenge deadline it got overlooked but to be honest I haven't been making that many cards lately so I finding my drafts post coming in handy.
I believe the sketch was Freshly Made sketches but I chose to replace the bottom border with the snowflake border from Memory Box.
Then I added the image which was mat and layered with an added ribbon to hide the edge of the border. Add the LOTV sentiment and of course my penguin is from there too.

Something Blue

Found it, this was the first idea I had for the Less is More Mostly Words challenge. I used the Hero Arts Stamp and since the mixed blue ink I had was pigment, once stamped I had to emboss it. So when I stamped the sentiment I also embossed it. Then I coloured the the word Blue with a pen.
The background shows up a bit more in real life.

New Home

The challenge on Less is More this week is for  Mostly Words so an idea popped into my head and while making it another idea arrived in my head. Since I've lost the image of the first idea I better post the second.
It helped that I've a couple of large word stamps from Inkylicious. I did think to colour the some of the letters but I thought it would distract from the little scene at the bottom of the card. The scene is from Memory Box and some scraps of card stock.

Snowfalling

Here I am trying to give the impression that I've made a snow-globe with the circle and the top note die, but looking now I could have done with a bit of pink round the image to help it stand out more.
The papers are LOTV and the cuties are Penny Black Hedgies, my holly is a Martha Stewart punch that I have added an extra leaf.
Now I've recovered from Wednesday I plan sometime in my craftroom or at least make a card. It been frustrated because I can't crochet at the moment, the granny square bedspread is too heavy to hold while doing the border round the square. So I'm attempting some felt ornaments since they're not very heavy to hold.

Week 36 & 37 Scapbooking Pages

I'm seriously behind with my layout a week but I'm going on a weekend Scrapbooking retreat soon so hopefully I will catch up. These two pages are to beside the Project Life type pages I've already done here.
Using the same papers from Fancy Pants and my large Palm tree is from MFT.

Spellbinder Poinsettia

This is why you use four by four squares and not three cos once the middle is covered up with a mat it loses it randomness. The paper is left over from making a card and rather than waste them I thought a patchwork card was the way to go.
I used the Spellbinders poinsettia dies along with the Penny Black Holly die. The sentiment is from LOTV. The strange coloured faux stitching is actually gold.
Our trip to London turned out fine, the trick is to plan before you leave especially with the underground although we only used the Jubilee line since most of the stations were catered for wheelchairs. Green Park was interesting with all the lifts. We finished the day by going to see the Jersey Boys.

Tolo Fairy

I'm scheduling my post today because I don't know if I will be up too early after the adventure we had planned yesterday. I've been amazed by the poppy pictures of the Tower of London and we are attempting to use the public transport with a wheelchair in tow. It could be interesting.
But back to my card and the lovely Tolo Fairy from Mo Manning she is adorable but I apologise for my card because the Dream Team have done amazing cards with her but Mr Mojo suffered over the weekend. Once again saved my the sweet image.

50dollar_voucher_600px
I decided to use one of my favourite Hero Arts Stamp Delicate Blossoms and instead of the usual red I've opted for a pretty pink instead. The papers are from an Echo Park Splendid Sunshine, I had to gut the inside out the piece for backing the card or else I wouldn't have enough to paperpieced the flowers and I used a bit of plain green for the stems.
To give a bit more design I used a Spellbinders Divine Eloquence die but before I removed the die I drew round the centre and used a sharp craft knife to cut out the centre. It was bit more tricky with the curve lines but was worth it in the end.
I dotted the flower centres with a white pen but now I'm writing this post I usually use accent beads but I'm pretty sure I haven't any white.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Snow and Joy

Some cards I made a couple of weeks ago with the arrival of the Parcel and Ornaments stamp set from Simon Says Stamps. I knew straight away when I saw the circle with the snowflake inside I wanted to use it to make seasonal words. I didn't have the new snowflake dies so I used Simon Says Stamps ones from last year. The letters are Memory Box and in the first one I've used Avery Elle Woodgrain and more stamp set to make the bottom panel using SSS Audrey inkpad.

This piece of patterned paper was on my desk and it went perfect with the Audrey Inkpad I was using. Again a quick card but I did cut out the snowflake twice this gives it more dimension and helps it stand out.

Chocolate

Ok my camera doesn't like my brown colouring cos its gone a weird colour but my little Sugar Nellie dog should be a chocolate brown but I'll settle for the box of chocolates he is carrying! Why chocolate well thats the new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge and we have a new team mate called Plony from the Netherlands.
The sketch is actually last week Mojo Monday sketch  and I've kept the card pretty much simple but its an A5 card and the size works better with minimum embellishments, thats my excuse and I'm sticking with it.
The papers are Echo Park and my large flower is the retro punch from EK success and I've noticed they have re-released it which is great because its in the style of flat punches now. The parcel he is holding is paper pieced to match one of the papers.
Do pop over and check out the team and hope you can join us this week.

Another Poinsettia

I had a poinsettia left from the card this morning and it just didn't seem right not to use it. So I found my Bricked Embossing Folder from Sizzix and with the Arch die from Spellbinders this is what I came up with.
Add the gold paper for the light out of the window and the sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamps old stamp set.

Poinsettias Rule

I've been waiting patiently for my order from Simon Says Stamps for the poinsettia die. Love that they are not huge. So I decided to use for the CAS(E) this sketch and I've managed to post it in time to enter the challenge too.
I wish I had done something a  bit different for the strip in hindsight which is a wonderful thing I should have found my Stazon and stamped onto gold but never mind. Do love how the flowers worked though.
Need to get in my craftroom today and get on top of my DT work and stop avoiding the fact that I've quite a few Christmas cards to make.

Less is More

Things haven't been going according to plan in the craftroom and when I saw the Less is More Challenge was to be Dance and Music, I knew this little darling was in my pile of coloured images.
I decided to use a sketch that I used many months ago and is a firm favourite for a CAS with a difference. The papers I think are Magnolia that I've had difficulties cutting into them and I placed the ribbon just belwo her feet so it looks like she is standing on it.
Of course you must realise the sweet image if from Mo Manning, she is called Odette. Looking at the card now I wish I had paper pricked round the edges but the way things have been going wrong lately I wasn't going to push my luck.
To be honest I blame the weather its be so dark, dank and dreary and it feels the air has been sucked out of the atmosphere. I did see a glimpse of the sun this morning so fingers crossed it will be a better day.

Lantern Mice

Not sure if my swirl and my snowflakes work together but it looked better inside my head which is the same that could be said with the cards I've made recently.
I've used the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp and the papers are LOTV, the sentiment is from LOTV too.
Of course my little mice are Penny Black.
It was a bit of an emotionally day yesterday and I think it may have affected Mr Mojo. Fingers crossed for a better day today.

Puddy Cat

Poor little chap has been sitting in the wings of my draft posts waiting to be posted. First of all he is a digi from Sugar Nellie and even though there is lots of details he still works well layered up.
The papers I'm sure is Echo Park Splendid Sunshine and I saw the sketch on Pinterest it too had a button on the side.
The sentiment is from Paper Smooches I do recommend you put double sided tape on the back before cutting out but I also cut out another in scrap card so it help with sticking the letters onto the card.

Warts and All

I wanted to join in with the Less is More challenge this week but I run out of time before I had some injections that I know will affect my crafting and anything else I'm able to to do for a few days. But I was determined not to let it beat me, by the time this simple card went in the bin several times, this one was the best of a bad job. Check out the entries all of them are so clever and inventive.

I also wanted to have a play with the Book stamps from Simon Says Stamps Kit last month and I used the Bookmark dies from Simon Says Stamps. The triangle is a corner bookmark die but I used it for my bookmark to sit in so you can lift it out. I like my book mark hate the card!

My daughter wanted an RSVP card I tried to match the invite which you can probably tell is Black and Gold haven't shown her yet but its a bit flat and I hate that black glitter card, the glitter is falling off onto the white card and I spent most of my time with a paintbrush flicking it off.

Autumn

Its time for another Blog Hop with Mo's Dream Team

It's Alice's turn with a theme and she has chosen Fall Images or Colours. It gave me the opportunity to add to my collection the Fall Fairy Jesen and to use up some Autumn papers.
Not please with my camera the colouring of the pumpkin even I was impressed how well I had done but the camera just hasn't picked it up.
The leaves cut out of some the papers are Impression Obession leaf dies and my all time favourite Spellbinder the Floral Oval. I've also used this week Sketch and Stash but replaced the circle with one of the large leaves.

So hopefully you have jumped over here from Julie's Blog and now you have to Hop, Skip and Jump over to Heidy's blog. Don't forget to comment there's a chance for a couple of winners of some vouchers to spend in Mo's shop.

Chrismas Tag

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Make Your Own Background Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.

TAG IT

you can make a tag or add a tag to a card/project.
We are showcasing TIM HOLTZ PRODUCTS this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

I'm going to be honest has much has I love seeing amazing tags from other people its not something I do unless its really quick and easy ones for Christmas. So this challenge is a real challenge for me and as soon as I see we have to use Tim Holtz products I tried to create similar to the great man himself which is way out of my comfort zone. But I love how my tag turned out.
First off the card is from Authentique Joyous but one of the plain ones that back the design lucky I didn't like the pattern on the other side. I then stamped the fir from Tim Holtz 2014 Christmas Blueprints twice. Then using a gold pigment inkpard I quickly before it dried stamped the brick wall using a wooden stamp called  Bricked its quite small stamp so I had to use it several times helped out with a Stamp a ma jig.  I used gold embossing powder in my stash. The pointesettia from the blueprints set was paper pieced with some red and green from the same Authentique pack.
I then did something foolish and used a white pen on the fir and hated it so I tried to rub it off but it left a bit of residue which actually give me the look I was looking for. I added a bit of gold ribbon again from my stash and stuck it on a card so I could photo it better.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Time for Coffee

I recently received this month kit and I thought I better make a couple of cards before the month flies past me. The top one was a quick one, I cut out the the coffee cup with the fabulous die that came with the kit in some scraps of kraft and pink I had on my table, oh and bit of brown. Stamped with the Khaki inkpad that came with it too  the sentiment from the stamp set and swirly steam stamp. The card is 10cm by 10cm which is just perfect if you had to make a few thank you cards.

I paper pieced this coffee mug with some of the papers and that sentiment was in the stamp set too. You can tell I was rushing I forgot the bow on my bit of twine. I will remedy that later with a new photo when I load my Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge card at 2pm.
